It would seem that the release of the long-rumored Onvis C3 Smart Indoor Camera is right around the corner based on a FCC filing.
Though nothing can be 100% until we get the product in our hands, an FCC filing gives us some pretty strong indications of what we can expect from this camera and suggests that its release may be coming sooner rather than later.
Included in the filing is the User Manual which outlines, among other information, the supposed specifications of the camera which include:
- Storage: iCloud ( HomeKit Secure Video), Micro card (up to 128G)
- Resolution: 1080p@30pfs and 720p@30fps (multiple live streamings)
- CMOS Sensor: Sony IMX Starlight sensor, 2M pixels
- Wi-Fi: 5GHz and 2.4GHz, 802.11 b/g/n/ac
- Lens FOV: 134°
- Night version: Auto IR Cut
- 2-way audio
- Adapter: Input 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz, 0.2A; Output 5.0VDC, 1.2A, Type C
If these specs are in fact what makes it to market and given Onvis’ track record for producing affordable HomeKit-compatible accessories, this camera could prove to be a very strong contender in the space.
Depending on when it hits the shelves, it could also be the very first security camera to ship with support for HomeKit Secure Video out of the box.
As first reported by HomeKit News and later confirmed by HomeKit Authority, Onvis has been ramping up hype for the smart camera on social media for a slated release before the end of the month.
