To add to the whirlwind of recent HomeKit announcements, Eve will be releasing their HomeKit Secure Video enabled Cam on June 23 and you can reserve yours now.

For many, Eve Cam stole the HomeKit show at CES earlier this year creating quite a bit of buzz and now we’ll finally have the chance to get our hands on their latest product, the company stated in a press relase today.

Aptly named the Eve Cam, the company touts it as having been developed “from the ground up for HomeKit Secure Video only”. Though we haven’t had our paws on it yet, literature would imply that the camera feed itself is actually not available through the Eve for HomeKit app, but rather only through Apple’s Home app, but we’re still waiting for confirmation. Regardless of the camera feed’s on/off state, it’s built-in HomeKit -exposed motion sensor will still allow for automations to be triggered using other Eve products or other manufacturers’ accessories.

While its obvious flagship feature is HSV, other features include:

  • 1080p/24fps H.264 Video
  • 150° field of view
  • Infrared motion sensor
  • Night vision up to 5 meters
  • Two-way communication with built-in microphone and speaker
  • 360° x 180° flexible installation with magnetic base
  • Status LED

Eve Cam pre-orders made through their website for 149.95 each in the U.S. and Europe will make their way to customers starting June 23. Online retailers like Amazon and Apple will have to wait until July for their stock.

Eve Cam is one of several recent cameras to be coming to market with planned support for HomeKit Secure Video out of the box including offerings from Logitech, eufy, and the more budget-friendly vendor Onvis. It’ll be interesting to see how these cameras all stack up against one another.
