We are all familiar with a lot of the marketing fluff for smart LED lighting solutions claiming a range of more than 16 million colors.  While according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology the typical human eye can only perceive up to 10 million colors, we can all agree that we probably aren’t taking as much advantage of the majority of these hues as we could whether our eyes can perceive them or not.

One of the conveniences afforded to us with Siri is the ability to make on-the-fly changes to our HomeKit lighting accessories.  The ol’ standby Roy G. Biv works in a pinch, but did you know that Siri can help you step up your colored lighting game going well beyond just the standard red, blue, green, yellow, and purple?  And I’m not talking just fuchsia, lilac, goldenrod, mauve, or sienna.

You may need to ask Siri in a very deliberate and precise manner, but I’m providing a few of the more unique palettes that I can confirm work with Siri and that I use on a fairly regular basis: Also, though Siri might not recognize all of them, I’ve linked a couple of places where I found ideas for these colors.  Enjoy!
